NCCHS Work-Study Program Takes Flight: Seniors Shadow Professionals Starting January 22!

(North Chicago, IL) - January 23, 2024: Thirty-five eager North Chicago Community High School (NCCHS) seniors embark on a real-world learning adventure today as the Work-Study program launches its in-person job shadowing initiative. Over the next few weeks, these students will dive into diverse professional landscapes, gaining firsthand experience and guidance from dedicated mentors at local companies.

The Work-Study participants will trade their classrooms for workplaces twice weekly, exploring potential career paths in various fields. From the dynamic classrooms of the AJ Katzenmaier School to the cutting-edge technology hub of the D187 IT Department, each student's journey is unique. Through hands-on observations and insightful conversations, they will witness the daily realities of professionals at:

  • Green Bay Early Childhood Center

  • D187 IT Department

  • Cardinal Health

  • North Chicago City Hall

  • North Chicago Community Partners

  • Athletico

  • Northwestern Medicine

  • Crazy Place Venue and Studio

This immersive program extends beyond mere observation.
